GoldenBear is a collaboration between Jony Bos and Jonathan Ahrens. The acoustic driven duo decided to combine their love for making music to create their first 3 song ep in 2012. The stories told in their music reflect life experiences of betrayal, frustration, passion and bright futures. The brutal honesty behind the lyrics and stories from GoldenBear draw the listener in and begs them to reflect on there own journey. GoldenBear’s music has a unique approach to making art that is easy to connect to.
The immediate versatility to GoldenBear’s songs are evident in their writing. The song “Driving Me Crazy” creates a life that has been betrayed by a friend with lyrics like “I got my back stuck with your knife”, while the environment of the song “Yet to Come” raising hope for the future with words that are encouraging like “My dreams are far from their ends, the best is yet to come”.
In the short time GoldenBear has been together, they have had notable recognition placing their single “Yet to Come”on season 12 of American Idol. GoldenBear is now working on a second EP.
